Miss Morrison (our student teacher)

In Term 2 on Monday the 20th of August 2015 a student teacher called Miss Morrison (Miss-Mor-ris-
in) came into our classroom(Rm11). She was a very nice student teacher. She stayed for a couple of weeks. We had a lot of fun with her. We made Matariki discs with her and many other things. We learnt a lot from her and she learnt a lot from us. After those couple of weeks it was the last day of Miss Morrison being in our class. Before we had lunch we sang a song called ‘See You Again’ and I cried (Crystal) and then we had a sausage sizzle. After going to singing assembly we came back and we all said goodbye and Miss Morrison said that she was going to come to one of the nights of our production. We all hope she will come back.

Science Roadshow

On the third of June 2015 we went to the science roadshow at Wairau Intermediate School so we could learn about ‘scientific stuff.

There were two other schools there Saint Mary's and another which I can’t remember. The guy there, I’ll call him ‘presenter’ who coinsidently presented to us a slide about water , we learnt that :
  • salt water makes up 2 thirds of our planet and only 3% of the water on the planet is freshwater
  • 70% of this freshwater can be found in Antarctica.
cool facts right.

After the slideshow he let us look at some totally mean machine engines, a spiky (but strangely comfortable bed of nails), a pulley chair, and a 3D printer - cool :)

The 3rd thing we did was listen to another cool bananas show about  . . . . . gherkins ( you're probably thinking what the heck do you mean ) the have a high concentration of salt, meaning a lot of salt and apparently salt is a good electrical conductor so if you're having trouble connecting 2 wires in a circuit just use a gherkin to connect them.
Then we did the tesla coil here is a picture of Nikola Tesla’s  one

pretty freaky how he just sits there reading his newspaper and they made one and showed it to us.

I loved going to the science roadshow I really want to go again.
